I think it would be amazing to be able to search by the project number or name on Compassion's website. Then, we could see what kids are waiting for a sponsor where ours live, or stuff like that. Just a thought! I love the updates search, too.

Lizzie, although the website currently doesn't have a search function, you can see who needs a sponsor from your child's center with slightly more effort. Search for your child's country and then move your mouse over a child's picture. In the lower left of your web browser, the link for the child appears as text. The end of that text will say something like UG1113333. Where UG111 is the project that the child is from. It's a method I learned from other sponsors on OC awhile back. I used it this summer to find another child in the same center that I felt led to sponsor-my two boys are the same age! As children from each project are assigned to different sponsor countries (US, Canada, Germany, etc.), and many kids are assigned to child advocates to find sponsors, it is quite possible there may not be a child listed online who is in your child's same project so don't be disappointed. Keep watching the website, one will turn up eventually :-)

Really?! That is cool. Sometimes, I click on every picture from my child's country to see, but your way does sound easier :) I e-mailed Compassion and asked if there were children needing sponsors from my children's centers. They told me what their names and ages were, and so far none have showed up on the site. But, that is okay. I did find a girl and boy from two of my kids' centers. Thank you :)

what i also did was, i found out there was a little girl who didnt have a sponsor in my kid's center, and i asked about her. I wanted to see if he knew her. He did! They were friends! Her name is Keyco, and from what he told me, she is in 4th grade, her tutor's name is Raquel, and he won first place in a singing cimpetition and she goes to the center in the morning and he goes in the afternoons. They arre from BO421 if anyone sponsors her, i know this would be valuabe information. (as he told me she is sponsored)

Wow! That's really cool. You should share this information on OurCompassion (www.ourcompassion.org) to see if her sponsor is on there.

I like looking up a kid's name. I have the same name as a girl in Honduras. :) And it was nice to see that there arnt any kids in my children's centers needing sponsors which means Keyco was definitely sponsored! :) Which i feel that i can tell Abraham now. :)
