I want to buy a live stock gift, will that go to my sponsored child? If not, can it?

Hi Kathy! I so appreciate your desire to bless your child in such a tangible way! That is very sweet and thoughtful of you! :)

The gifts in the Gifts of Compassion catalog are not necessarily given to your child's family. We have a list of families that need livestock and your gift will go to the family that needs it most.

However, if you would like to help purchase livestock or some other type of income generation project specifically for your child's family, you are welcome to send a Family Gift! Here are some prices for livestock in Peru:

  • Goat/pig/ram                           (US $55)
  • Cow                                         (US $550)
  • Chicken                                   (US $10)

To send a gift, please log into the "My Account" section and click the button for "Additional Giving." Use the drop down for Family Gift to select the amount.

At the end of checkout, please click the Special Instructions link to designate the gift specifically for income generation for the family.
