On the letter writing part on the site, there is a choice between letter, card, and upload a photo. Can photos be sent without an accompanying letter?

Hi Beth! I apologize for the confusion. We need a letter with every item that is sent. This means that you will need to include at least a short message with your photos. I usually just explain what the photos show and maybe tell the story of how the photos were taken in my letter message.

Hi Beth,

I always use the "upload a photo" option to upload a handwritten letter.  If my handwritten letter to a child is only one page, I scan it myself as a jpeg file and use the "upload a photo" option instead of sending it through the mail.  It cuts down on at least a few days of mail time for a handwritten letter!

Thanks for sharing that, Mairi! I never thought of scanning in a hand-written letter! Kind of neat to be able to write a letter in your own handwriting and still be able to use the electronic letter feature!
