My daughter would like to send a Bible to our sponsored child Erica. What is the best way to do this? Thanks! Chris

Hello Chris! Thank you so much for your desire to place God's Word in Erica's hands :). Regrettably, Compassion is not able to send on physical gifts to the children. Everything we send to our country offices is declared at a customs as a document. If custom officials find anything in a box of letters that isn't a document, we are assessed a hefty fine and the box will be held for weeks, possibly months. On top of that, there is a high incidence of theft when sending packages to the developing world, and shipping items overseas can be quite costly. Erica does already have an age appropriate Bible, which I hope brings some comfort to you! If you know of anyone traveling to Peru in the future, you are welcome to send the Bible along with them to be delivered to our country office there. Just contact us at socialmedia@compassion.com to request information on how to do so at that time. I am so sorry that we cannot help get this precious gift to Erica, but we so appreciate your heart for her!
