I just got my first letter that is scanned through the new system. Now I have a question about sending cards. I like to send cards for birthdays and holidays, will these be scanned also? The scanning process seems to distort the shape, and I would like my kids to have the actual cards. Thamk you!

Hi Caralee! Yes, regular birthday and holiday cards will be scanned and sent to our kids that way in the new system. The only items that will actually be delivered are the following items up to a maximum of six sheets:

  • Stickers (flat, not puffy or foam)
  • Bookmarks
  • Musical greeting cards

I'm sorry that the letter you received looked distorted. :( I think that Compassion is still working hard to get everything worked out with the new system and so I'm hoping that you won't notice anything like that in the future. I have always sent paper cards also, but I think that Compassion has added cards that we can send to our kids through the online letter writing app. One of my kids has a birthday coming up that I haven't sent a card for yet and that was what I was planning on doing. I've never sent a letter online yet so I'm excited to try it! Thank you so much for caring so much about your kids and making them feel loved and remembered and cared for! :)
