Has anyone sent their Compassion kid(s) the Dover Little Activity books?  I found some really cute and cheap ones on Amazon, but don't want to purchase any until I know that they actually meet the small gift requirements! :)

Noelle, I haven't ever sent Dover activity books but know that you can send books if you remove the covers and they are 1/4" or less thick.  Plus they have to be no larger than I believe 8 1/2 X 11 inches.

Are you a member of the private Facebook group called Compassion Sponsors/Correspondents Facebook Forum?  Sponsor share lots of great ideas of things to send your kids and prayer requests for kids, etc.   If you aren't a member yet and are interested send an email to:

I haven't sent this book, but I've sent others without any problem. (It is beautiful, by the way)!

.... Just be carful if you buy their coloring / activity books... I think those might be a tad thicker than 1/4" .... But even with those, you could just cut the book down the middle and then send the 2 pieces. ..... All of their paper doll books, sticker book and stained glass books (like the one you picked out) are all thin enough that they go through with no problems (I send them to my kids all the time!)

Hi Stephanie! I saw your question and I was curious because I've never heard of those books before and so I searched around and I found this online store for Dover's books. They have so many cool books on there that look like they would be great to send! If you click on a book you like, there is a tab under the picture for "Product Details" and it looks like on all of them they tell you what grade level and ages they recommend that particular book for. All the ones I looked at would fit in the size requirements. They don't say the width on them, but like Jennifer said you could always send them in two sections if they're too thick. I have been noticing lately since we have started sponsoring a boy that it seems like a lot of the books in stores are more for girls and I'm so glad to find this website. I already see a dinosaur book that looks like it would be awesome to send to my little buddy, Andualem!

I love these coloring books! They look like they will be thin enough to send, as they are only about 8-12 pages! I normally send sheets to my kids, but I'm excited to send whole books, even if they are thin.

Thanks for sharing! I picked out a few different stained glass patterns for my kiddos :)
