I sent my sponsored child a monetary gift for her birthday, and another monetary gift for her family. When will I receive confirmation that she and her family have received these gifts?

You should receive a thank you with information about what the gift was used for by 6 months after the date you sent the gift. If not, let them know and they will send an inquiry to get it for you.

When I have sent gifts, they have told me in the child’s letter that it was received and what it was used for. In my case it was right around 6 months.

Hi Deborah,
As Sarah said, we do allow a full six months for your child to send a thank you letter for the gifts you gave. This allows us to process the gift donation, go through currency exchange, send the funds to the church... they will then sit with the family to decide how the funds should be used and then the staff will purchase these items for the family. After all this the child will send a thank you note mentioning what was purchased on their next letter writing day. :) If you do not hear within 6 months of giving the gifts what was purchased, please let us know and we are more than happy to send an inquiry for you!

I gave monetary gifts to the family of my sponsored child of $25 and $60, a few days apart. I'm interested in receiving a photo of items purchased as confirmation that they received the gifts. Will I be receiving a photo within the next 6 months, even though both transactions do not exceed $60- which I read was the requirement in one of the Compassion blogs for a photo confirmation of gifts purchased?

You will receive a photo with your thank you for gifts $60 and more. But you will still receive a thank you and listing of what was purchased for gifts under $60.

Hi Deborah,
As Sarah mentioned, you can plan to receive one thank you photo, and the other gift under $60 will still be mentioned in your thank you note. However, in some cases when gifts are sent very close together like this, they may have the child combine the gifts and then you may get one photo that shows everything purchased with both gifts. :)
