I have not heard anything from the child I sponsor.  I received a letter stating that the Indian Government was making it so that donations could not come through. I sent Mohan a  birthday gift and want to make sure that he received it. I understand the donation money is allocated a few different directions, but I want to make sure the money I sent to him for his birthday all went directly to him. Not to mention I have heard nothing about him or any letters.  Starting to feel duped a little her and a bit irritated, like I am donating to made up person. Please shed some light on this for me. I want to help in as much as possible, but other than one picture and description from my sign up, he is a figment of imagination.

Shawn, the awesome people who monitor this forum will answer you soon. Thank you for blessings your sponsored child with a birthday gift. I am another sponsor, but I can assure you your child is very real and you have not been duped. How long have you been sponsoring your child? It can take up to 4 months to receive your first letter. The new letter process has some kinks in it right now, but once those have been worked out letters will take half the time to reach our kids and us than it did before. I encourage you to make Compassion aware if you have not received a first letter in 4 months or any 6 month gaps after that. They can only check on situations they are made aware of due to the size of the ministry. It would be near impossible to monitor every child and center for letter writing on an ongoing basis. The staff can better explain how they are handling the birthday gift as well as they can email you more information on the situation. I just wanted to assure you your child is real; we have been sponsoring for almost 3 years and also correspond with many children. I have no doubt they are real children benefiting from our love and the Compassion program. God bless!

Shawn, I can certainly understand why you are so concerned about your child and your sponsorship. Please know that each child that is in Compassion's program is real and is being assisted because of the generous donations made by sponsors like you. At this moment, I am not able to locate your account with your name or email address to see what is going on with your child. In order to answer all of your questions and assist you, would you be able to provide me with your sponsor number or your child's ID?
