There are far too many children enrolled to contact every sponsor... so Compassion works with the "No News is Good News" policy.  If you haven't heard anything, it means your child is okay and hasn't been affected!  However that being said, they probably haven't finished contacting everyone who HAS been affected quite yet.  When disasters like this happen it often takes quite some time for the countries to be in a position to tally all of what has happened to each child.  Best thing to do is to pray and hope you continue to not hear any news over the next couple weeks.

You can check on your account whereabouts in Mexico your child is located and compare to news stories to see how close she is to the worst areas.  If she's on the opposite side of the country it might help ease your mind.  Also Compassion updates here: https://www.compassion.com/where-we-work/crisis-updates.htm?_ga=2.6758644.730694525.1496329181-38845...   and also there are some posts about it for more info on the Compassion UK site here: https://www.compassionuk.org/pray-connect/news/

Hope that helps until staff can answer you tomorrow

Sue, I am so sorry for the concern you've had because of the earthquakes that affected Mexico. Though there are several children from her project that were affected, your girl is not currently on the list of those who were affected. Our staff continue to check on each child individually. If we find out that your girl was impacted, we will notify you as soon as we have that information available. If you do not hear from us, that is good news and that she is ok. Also, I wanted you to know as well that it can take up to four months to receive the first letter from your child. Since you began sponsoring at the end of August, you can expect to receive her first letter by the end of December :). I know that letter will be a most welcome one for you to read!
