So, I've been toying with the idea of going on one of the Honduras tours that are coming up because they seem to work really well with my schedule. I had previously nixed the idea becasue I have a *lot* of travel coming up in 2015 (including a cruise to Honduras, which sadly will not give me time to visit at all). Ultimately I decided against it because, at the time, I was only sponsoring one child in Honduras and she is so young that I thought she would find it more rewarding for me to put the trip off for a few years. I picked up another Honduran girl this week, though, and am trying to sponsor another boy from there. Long story short(er), I'm again looking into taking the tour. My problem is this. I am a *bear* to travel with. I get stressed out and I just need alone time- especially when I'm dealing with children. I don't have them in "real life", and frankly it's taxing on me. I wish neither to inflict my solitary grump time on others, nor to make things more grumpy for myself. Is there an option to upgrade to a solo room or is it *only* double occupancy?

Hi Lindsay! I am excited that you have decided to possibly take a trip to Honduras in the near future. Are you thinking about taking the tour next June? I know that your children will be thrilled to meet you and we are more than happy to accommodate your requests! You will most likely be charged an extra fee to cover this expense, but we certainly understand if you want to have your own room to wind down in the evenings and process the day alone :). Upon registering for the tour, when it asks you about rooming situations and if you have a specific request for a roommate, just note that you would like a room to yourself and the tour specialist for your trip will ensure you are not assigned a roommate on your trip.

Oh man...I did it! I'm booked! Talk about some "fly by the seat of your pants" decision making. I'm so excited to be able go down there and see the kids. i was a little broken hearted knowing that I'd be so close in February without being able to do anything.

Oh, and yes. It's the June trip. I had previously considered the October trip when I only had the one girl, but I was confused about that anyway. For some reason I thought it was October 2015, not 2014.

I'm on it! Already got my background check started and everything! And since I was recently a bit overzealous with the shopping for my little Peruvian that my peruvian cousin delivered to, I've already got some gifts for these kids :)
