I found out my sponsor child’s mother is pregnant. Can I sponsor this child when they are born? If so, how do I start this process?

Hello Michael! Thank you so much for your desire to continue blessing your sponsored child's family! Regrettably, we are not able to fill your request to sponsor this child after he or she is born. Usually, Compassion does only enroll one child per family into the program as a way to  help as many families in the community as possible. Through your sponsorship of your child, you are indirectly helping this family and baby further because your child is brining valuable knowledge home, especially that about health and sanitation. There may also be parenting classes available to the mother that can help her properly care for each of her precious children, and she knows that there is a precious community of people at the church her child attends who will be there to help and encourage her along the way too. As the older child's sponsor, you are always able to send family gifts that will help not just your child but the whole family with things they may be in need of. This is not a requirement by any means, but it is a wonderful way to provide extra support in an unexpected way. A family gift can be given between $25 and $1000 per year. Let me know if you have any further questions!
