Good morning, I sponsor two children to which I've sent letters, Christmas and birthday presents but I only received 1 correspondence from them since November. How do I know if they are receiving what has been sent?
Was November the last correspondence date? If so,you can request them to check on status for the child in May (6 months) However, I suspect you will hear from them before that since you've sent a letters. Especially with Christmas break in between. It just takes a little time to get messages sometime.
The children do not receive the money directly, no. For the Christmas money, the center buys gifts for all the kids and passes them out at their Christmas party (For one of my kids I actually got the thank you for this back last year. Because of the nature of the project, their party was very early. Mostly I'm getting the thank yous in the first letters I'm getting this year... Some are more specific about what they received. Others just say a generic thank you.) For child, birthday, and family gifts the center works with the family to figure out what the child needs and then go purchase it. If the gift is for over $20 you'll get a separate letter saying thank you (if $60 and over, with a picture). Otherwise you will get the thank you as part of a regular letter.
