What are your thoughts on trying to reach out to multiple children? Instead of the required $38 per month, would it make sense to do $100 per month for five children - thus more children receive benefits instead of just one? I was considering such an arrangement. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi! Compassion certainly welcomes people who want to sponsor more than one child! It is still $38 per child,so for just $114/month you can sponsor three children! Another thing to consider if you can't afford the $38/month per additional child is to add a correspondent child or two.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Could you please tell me more (or link me to) the correspondent child sponsorship? Thanks!

Sure. A correspondent child is one who already has a financial sponsor but they need someone to write to them. There is no cost involved for you, unless you want to send extra financial gifts, like a birthday gift.

Being a correspondent sponsor is great because you are able to write to kids who would otherwise never get a letter. The one thing to be aware of though is that if their financial sponsor drops them, then you will not be able to continue writing them anymore unless you decide to pick up their sponsorship.

I've had several correspondent kids since first hearing about Compassion and added two financial sponsorships this way because I couldn't bear to say goodbye to my correspondent kids when their sponsor dropped them. I've also had to let one go because I couldn't take on any more financial sponsorships.

If being a correspondent sponsor is something that interests you, just email Compassion at ciinfo@us.ci.org with your sponsor number (if you have one) and ask to be put on the waiting list for however many kids you would like to write. If you request a specific country, age or gender the wait can be pretty long so I generally just say I will write to anyone.

Hello,

If I wanted to modify my account to change my sponsorship, could I do it here online? I would like to cancel my Partners of Compassion (PC) ($7) sponsorship and my Pattana Chewit Mai Child Survival Program (THC12) ($52). Then I want to re-elect my sponsorship options.

As a side note, can I simply revise down my Pattana Chewit Mai Child Survival Program (THC12) to $20 (since it seems the prevailing rate is $20 as per the main page for this sponsorship option)?

Thank you!

Hi there! Yes, I'd be happy to help you with your account!

I have removed your commitment to the Partners of Compassion.

We can certainly lower your commitment to the Pattana Chewit Mai Child Survival Program to $20 if you'd like or cancel it all together. I would just need the go-ahead from you and then I'll take care of it for you.

From your previous posts, it sounds like you may be interested in giving towards the Unsponsored Children's Fund or some other collective fund that helps children but not necessarily a sponsorship. I just wanted to let you know that this is an option as well. To find out more about the different funds at Compassion, please visit: www.compassion.com/donate

Or, if you'd like to become a correspondent sponsor, as Kristen mentioned, I'd be happy to add you to the waiting list for this program as well.

Hello,

Thanks for the response.

Please do the following for me:

- lower the Pattana Chewit Mai Child Survival Program to $20.
- if not already done (I e-mailed the address as advised above) please add me as a correspondent sponsor as well. I am happy to correspond with up to five more children (six total including my current sponsor)

I will probably re-elect my donations later tonight...I may choose additional Child Survival Programs at $20 each...or sponsor another child (have not decided, am currently working now).

Thanks!

Hello again!

I have lowered your commitment for the Pattana Chewit Mai Child Survival Program from $52 to $20 per month.

I also added you to the waiting list for five correspondent sponsorships which will bring your total children to six (it looks like this has not been done yet).
