Sponsors before me and Compassion app issue

Hi! I’m currently sponsoring 2 kids: Mayte (EC045800590) and Iner (EC070000420). I’m just curious if they were sponsored before and if so, how long? And also for the Compassion app, it did not update when Mayte had a recent picture change. I just discovered it when I went to the website itself. Is there an issue with the app? Thank you!

Did the photo update recently? If so, you might need to log out and log back in to the app for it to "see" the updated photo.  It may have cached the old photo in your phone's memory and not "searched" to see if there was a new photo yet.

Hi Sarah! Yes, it’s a recent photo of hers. And I did not try to log in and out cause I noticed that everytime I close and open the app, it automatically logs me in. So what I did was I unistalled and installed it again, but I will try to log out before I close the app to see if it works the next time. So is your app updating the pictures itself? Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate it!

Yes. I just checked and even photos that updated as recently Thursday have updated in the app for me.  I also have a heart for Ecuador, with sponsored kids in Quito (EC0111) and Santo Domingo de Onzole (EC0389 ).  I used to have one in the mountains above Quito but she graduated last year.

Oh, thanks so much for the tip, I’ll do that from now on. I just started my Compassion journey this month and I’m so happy that I did. I hope God would help me so that I can help more kids too. God bless you and your heart for caring for these children. Thank you again Sarah!

Oh that's so exciting! And when everything is new, you don't even know what to expect or not.  If you are interested in writing you might join the Correspondent program and have the opportunity to write to kids you do not financially sponsor (but it also means you lose access to those kids if the financial sponsor decides to cancel and you can not pick up the financial support or if the financial sponsor decides to write themselves).  I first started sponsoring at the end of October 2016 (I sponsored an older girl early on and then she graduated a year early!)
and I just wish I had not waited so long.

You can request access to the Facebook Correspondent list and talk to others who also write to kids. That can be very encouraging while waiting to start receiving letters, etc. (Because that wait can very well be long. Another reason to write to more
kids is you receive more letters/have more kids to write to so it helps make the wait not seem so horrible because you have other things to do in the meantime!)

Hi Rizza! Welcome to the Compassion family! We are so blessed to have you partner with us. I am sure that both Mayte and Iner are excited that they have a new sponsor and will be very grateful to start receiving your letters. Mayte has had one previous sponsor, they were her sponsor for three years. Iner has also has one previous sponsor and they sponsored him for seven months.

I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with our mobile app. Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try:

1. Check that you are running the most recent software for your phone. You can do this in general settings on the phone. 
2. Log out of the mobile app completely and then uninstall it from the phone.  
3. Reinstall the mobile app to the phone and log back in. 

If you are still having the same issue after trying these steps, please provide me with your phone brand, model number and the software version you are currently using. I will have to submit the information to my IT team for further research for you. I hope this helps. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
