Sponsorship Cancelled because credit card had expired-I was unaware of it not being connected to my account.

Hello, I did not realize that my current debit card was not linked to my monthly giving. We had issues with our postal services and I just received all the notices this evening. I tried to hurry and make a payment as soon as I opened the envelope a few minutes ago, and it says I no longer have a sponsor child. He still shows up on my app, but when I tried to make a payment my option was to sponsor a child. I had no idea and can make a payment immediately if it can correct the issue. I am so sorry for this chaos, but I had no idea. Thank you for all your ministry does!

I am surprised that Compassion did not try and contact you first in different ways (mail, email, or by phone) before terminating your sponsorship. Even at one point in my life, during a financial struggle, when I was behind in payments, Compassion called and spoke to me first. I don't know if you can reconnect with your sponsored child and I pray you can, but I would advise anyone using a bank account to use the routing and account numbers. The reason I say this is because if new cards are ever issued because of loss or security issues, the numbers would then change. Just my thoughts, but hopefully someone at Compassion can help you and I believe they will.

Hi Katie, I am so sorry for the confusion and distress that was caused by losing your sponsored kiddo, Saul. :( Thank you so much for reaching out to us about this issue. Thankfully, I was able to reassign Saul to your account, and you are able to go online or call in and make a donation at your earliest convenience! Laura's suggestion is great, too - If you're planning on using a card that's linked to a bank account for your donation, using the routing and account number instead of the card number will ensure that your sponsorship is always linked to your bank account, even if a new card is issued. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you!

Hello! Please contact me I am in the same situation my account was not updating and my mailing address was working fine but it kept saying undeliverable but I just saw I needed to update my payment method and when I tried to make it everything disappeared and I just lost all my sponsorships - please is there anyway to reassign jaem and our other commitments?? Please get to me as soon as you can thank you al so very much for all you do and praying Gods best blessings on you all!!

Hi! I am having a similar issue! I remember checking my account this summer and payments had stopped being made, so I thought I had fixed that, but now it tells me that I’m only signed up to make a Christmas donation? Is there anyway that I can be linked back to making monthly payments for my sponsored child that shows up on my app? I appreciate your help! Thank you!

I am so sorry to hear you are having this issue. We would be more than happy to look into this for you. However, your email is not connected to an account. Can you please provide me either your sponsor number or your kiddos child ID number so that I can locate your account? Thank you so much!
