Sponsorship of new child not showing up

I logged on to write an initial letter to my newly sponsored child (after sponsorship to India was ended), and it says I'm not sponsoring any children.  I agreed to sponsor a child and received a letter.  What should I do?

Sherri, we have been having trouble getting your child, Daniele, placed on your account. I am sending this issue on to our tech team to see if we can get the issue fixed for you. When we have fixed it, you should see her placed on your account.

This is still not fixed.  I sent a message to the Compassion contact team.  One way or another, please let me know how to resolve this.  Thank you.

Good morning Sherri, 
I am so sorry this has still not been fixed! I was able to do a little further research into what our technical support team had found, and I am so very sorry but the reason that this child was not able to be placed on your account was because someone in another country has already sponsored them. Sadly, one of the issues that we are in the midst of trying to eliminate is that if by some odd chance two sponsors chose the exact same child, at the exact same time, the sponsor who finished the form first would be successful, but the other sponsor would receive an error. In this case, this came through just a little different since this other sponsor is in another country and this was the child that you accepted after your child in India departed the program. However, with that said, I am truly so sorry, but Daniele is already sponsored. Please know we are very sorry for the delay in figuring this out and getting a resolution to you. If you would like, we would be happy to help you select a new child, or you may also do so online. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

Thank you.  Yes, this is very strange, as I was assigned this child by  Compassion and sent the confirmation letter back to them to affirm my sponsorship of her.  So ... Someone must have chosen her sometime in the communication mix.  At this point, it would probably be best if I selected another child myself.  That seems like the best way to prevent this from happening again.  Thank you again for figuring this out for me!
