I am about to start having to pay college loans, and the payment is more than I was anticipating. I would like to continue sponsoring my child but I'm not sure if I can; I am going to be cutting it close just to get my loan payments paid on time. Are there an options for situations like these? I would hate to cancel my sponsorship, but may have to if not. Thank you so much!

Hi Blakeley!

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling. :( It sounds like you are still in school. I know that it can be tough to just support yourself when you are in college let alone a sponsored child. Please know that we are here to help with whatever you need to do right now. We do have some options that may be able to help if you think that you just need some time to get through the woods. For example, we could cover your support for three months and then lower your support amount for six months. Please let me know if this would help. If not, let me know and I'll make Seraphine available for another sponsor.

Hello,
I am seeking help for my sponsorship fees. I recently have started to have to pay on my massive student loans and also dealing with increased costs for insurance and tax debt. I have considered discontinuing my sponsorship but don't want my sponsored child to suffer due to this. Are there any options?
Thank you

Hi Ashley! I understand as I have my own student loans that I'm working on slowly paying off. I appreciate your commitment to your sponsored child. We can certainly cover your support for three months and then lower your support amount to $19 for six months after that if that would help. Please let me know either way as I would be happy to help you with whatever you need to do on your account.

Reading how Ms. Susan and Ms. Emily have been handling and solving these individual situations have been such a blessing. You two are so sincere and so caring; perfect examples of true kindness. Thank you for shining your light and for helping not only these sponsor children, but the sponsors as well.

Like many of the posts here I too have been struggling with my keeping up with my payments. Throughout the past Fall 2015 semester in the nursing program and only working once a week it has been difficult having enough money to cover my sponsorship. I do not plan on canceling my sponsorship but I am worried about being insufficient in my funds. I am approaching one year of friendship with my sponsor child Richard this March and I would be so devastated that I may not be able to help him as I know God has placed on my heart to.

I was wondering if you could offer me the wonderful options that have been applied to my fellow sponsors as well? It would be greatly appreciated and such a huge help and blessing for Richard and I.

Again thank you so much for your help, kindness, and commitment in serving God and others. You are truly blessings.

Hello. My finances have recently tightened up and I am having trouble maintaining my sponsorship. I have shared living expenses with roommates for the last 3 years of my sponsorship and now am renting an apartment on my own. Sponsoring Sheila has been a joy and I do not wish to stop. I read that you can cover a sponsorship for a few months and allow smaller payments for a period of 6 months. Is this correct? If so, I would be so grateful for this help.

Thank you

I hope this is enough to pull you through this rough period! Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. We so appreciate all you are doing for sweet Sheila!

Hi Sarah! I am so sorry that your finances are taking a hit! I can happily cover your support for January through March. If your situation is still difficult in April, I can also reduce your sponsorship rate to $19 a month per child through September too. You are such a wonderful sponsor for Shamiul and Amina :). Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way!

Hi Anna! Oh my, how exciting! May I ask where you're going for your trip? I think that these trips are absolutely life changing and I'm so excited for you :). That's a pretty long trip too! What will you be doing while you're there?

I have updated your support for your children so that they're covered for two months. Nancy is already current through the end of March so I didn't touch her support.

Karen, you've been such an incredible sponsor to Sahil and a partner with us for almost nine years! I'm so sorry that circumstances are causing it to be hard right now to continue supporting your boy. We definitely don't want this to burden or stress you and we're happy to help out while you get back on your feet.

I have updated your account today so that your support is current through the end of May. Come June, please let us know if you're still unable to give any support and we're happy to help you out. We might be able to hold off for another couple of months or if things are starting to improve, we can just temporarily reduce your rate to $19 for a while :). I pray your situation improves quickly for your family!

Hi Susan! I am in the same situation as a lot of these people. I am having some financial issues and the payment is becoming too much for me right now. An ideal situation would be to get to take a break for a few months and it be lowered to 19 as well. Is that possible for me? Thank you!

Shaina, we totally understand that circumstances come up sometimes and financial situations can change. You've been such a loving sponsor to Justin and if we're able, we want to help you continue the relationship you're building!

I have updated your account today so that your support will be current through the end of March. Beginning in April, your rate for her will be $19 and that will last for six months. My prayer is that things will have improved for you come October and you'll be able to go back to the normal rate.

You're amazing and thank you for letting us know what's going on so that we can help you!

Hey Susan, I'm also a student in college right now and this year has been tougher financially then any other year. I am behind on my payments, but is there any way you could lower mine to $19/month and then I could make the full payments over the next few months to catch up?

Hi Abby! I am so sorry you are having such a tough year! What college are you going to? I know things can be particularly tight when you are in school. Yes, we will cover three months and then lower your rate to $19 for six months. This means, you could pay the full $38 over the next three months through April to get caught up. I'm so glad we could help!

Hi,

Is there any way you could help me to find people to financially sponsor some or even just 1 of my children but I still write? I am only able to work part time right, and so things are tight. I know you have already covered several months for me, I hate to ask more. I really can't stand the thought of giving up my children, so it would be so amazing if I could still write to them but have someone else pay.

Hi Marilyn! I am so sorry to hear that your finances are so tight right now. We certainly want you to stay connected to all of your children as well. Regrettably, I don't have the ability to search out new financial sponsors for your children and have you still be their correspondent. If you can find anyone in your life who would be willing to do that, we can certainly help you take care of that though. In the meantime, I do have the ability to cover your donations through April and reduce your sponsorship rate to $19 per child per month from May through October if that would help. This is a gift to you; there is no need for you to pay it back. You are a fantastic sponsor, and we are so blessed to partner with you. Let me know if that option works for you, ok?

Lindsay, like Teresa kindly mentioned, we're happy to help you maintain your support of your sweet child during this transition between jobs! Congratulations on your new job and I pray it goes smoothly and that you enjoy it! I definitely understand that switching jobs can cause a lag between your pay and can be straining financially. I  have updated your account today so that your support for Deisiane is current through the end of June. Your next withdrawal will not happen until July 20th. Come July, if you're still not ready to begin making donations again, please just let us know and we're happy to work with you some more! You've been such a blessing to this little lady and faithful partner with us for almost 7 years. I pray we're able to help you continue your relationship with Deisiane! Blessings to you as you step into this new season!

We definitely understand circumstances change and we want to help you maintain your relationship with Fairy if your financial situation right now is short term. Would it help you if we completely covered your back support and also brought your child's support current through the end of July? I'd be willing to cover your donations through September completely for you and even reduce your rate to $19 a month from October through March if that would help you continue Jose's sponsorship. This is a gift; there is no need for you to pay it back at any time. If my offer would assist you, please let me know and I would be happy to take care of it for you today! We certainly don't want the bond between you and Jose to be severed either! He looks like such a joyful child :)! How could he not be with so many encouraging letters coming from his amazing sponsor?
