I am about to start having to pay college loans, and the payment is more than I was anticipating. I would like to continue sponsoring my child but I'm not sure if I can; I am going to be cutting it close just to get my loan payments paid on time. Are there an options for situations like these? I would hate to cancel my sponsorship, but may have to if not. Thank you so much!

I opened this account for my twin great nieces, teaching them how to be a blessing and give back, while they were visiting me for the summer and I took them to the Compassion Experience. I'm not working and my husband and I have gone from a two to a one income household. It would help if I could take a break from the payments a few months and start up again with lesser payments. I don't want to cancel entirely because I don't want Deuine to be without a sponsor again. Can you help out at this point?

Dorene, I am so sorry that you are having to make such a difficult decision regarding this sponsorship. You sound like an amazing great aunt, and I know your two nieces have learned so much about giving back because of your commitment and heart for children in poverty! I can cover your sponsorship for the months of March through May and reduce your sponsorship temporarily to $19 a month for June through November. The sponsorship rate would return to $38 in December 2017. If that would help, please let me know so I can get the change processed for you today. If returning to the $38 rate at the end of the year isn't a good option for you, we do have several other programs and funds in our ministry that you can still give towards that are at much lower rates than the sponsorship program is. Let me know if you'd like more information about those!

Hello! My name is Ariel Tidwell. I recently had to quite my job I'm in internship right now and couldn't do both. I am afraid I will have to cancel my sponsorship until this summer. I do not want to have to do that at all! If there is any way I could get some help financially it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ariel! Is it Doris in Ghana that you are currently sponsoring? I just want to make sure I have the correct account before we move forward with seeing what we could do to help you keep the sponsorship!

I recently had unexpected medical expenses and with newer insurance policies I am not qualifying for any aid from my insurance until I reach a deductible i can't afford. Is there a way to postpone giving for a few months until I pay off some unexpected debt without my child losing aid? please direct me to somebody who can help! Thank you!

Sarah, I am so sorry to hear that you have had some unexpected medical expenses. I am praying that you are alright and able to get back on your feet soon. We would be happy to help you get through this time by covering a  few months for you. Regrettably, I found a few accounts under your name and want to make sure I have the correct account first. Are you sponsoring Api from Bangladesh?

Because of some unforeseen expenses I am struggling to make my monthly payments right now and cancelling my sponsorship is the last thing I want to do. Are there any options to make it easier for a time? I have previously had to have assistance before this, so I'm not sure if I can receive help again, but if there are any options please let me know!

Hi Sarah! I am so sorry that you are going through financial difficulties right now :(. If it would help you out, we can cover three months of sponsorship funds for each of your children, which would be for the months of March through May, and reduce your rate to $19 a month per child from June through November as well. Let me know if that helps you out enough that you don't have to cancel and I will take care of it for you today!

Becky, we could cover the months missed and then through April. After that, we could lower your support amount to $19 per child per month but we can only do that for up to six months. This is because Compassion would have to cover the difference during this time so that your child will still receive the same amount. Please let us know if this would help. If not, please let me know if you need to cancel one or all of your children. I am so sorry as I know these are really tough decisions. :(

I'm behind on what I owe and I'm struggling to pay.. Money has been tight with my job. I have already opted to pay $19 for 6 months, but now I'm back to having to pay $38 again and it's been a stressful time trying to choose between bills and this. What can I do? I'm behind, but I don't want to stop sponsoring. Help!!!

Hello,

My brother and I sponsored a child back in the fall. He is now getting married and will no longer be able to pay half with me. I am paying off student loans so I will not be able to pay for the highly vulnerable care, but I do not want to cancel my sponsorship for Geovanna. Are the any options to help with sponsorship costs?

Thank you,

Sam

Hi Samuel! I am so happy to hear that you wish to continue sponsoring Geovanna! I have removed your extra donation to the Highly Vulnerable Children's fund. This will be effective today. Going forward, we are able to do a temporary reduced rate of sponsorship for up to 6 months. If you are interested, we would happily reduce your rate of sponsorship to $19 a month for the next three months. At that time, if you still need a bit of additional help we can extend that for an additional three months. Please let us know if you feel this would be helpful! :)

It is with deepest regret that I must write this asking to either cancel both of my sponsorships or to receive help. I recently started sponsoring 2 kids for my children, however, due to a job change, the last 2 months have resulted in insufficient funds in my account, the most recent being tonight. I need to find out if I can get that money deposited back into my account and if there is a way to resolve this. The 2 beautiful children that we sponsor are Adissa & Zoulkarnine. Their ID numbers are: 07471135 and 07471136 .
Thank you,
Liz Green

Hi Liz! I am so sorry that you are struggling financially and the drafts for your sponsorships have caused overcharge fees :(. I can refund this month's donation back to you and cover your support for March through May, as well as reducing the sponsorship rates to $19 a month from June through November if that would help! Let me know if it works for you to keep your kiddos, and I will take care of doing so right away!

My husband and I have been struggling with making ends meet through a long stretch of unemployment. I need to suspend my financial support starting this month if possible, until our job situation is resolved. I cannot figure out how to cancel this month's scheduled payment that will pull from my account on Monday, Can you cancel it immediately and put my support on hold for a few months?

Elizabeth, I am so sorry that you are going through a period of unemployment and are financially struggling because of that :(. I just took care of covering your donations through June today, but I wasn't able to stop the donation from pulling out this morning for March. If you need a refund for that donation, please let me know and I will request one for you immediately.

Hi, I have been sponsoring two children for I think about 15 years now. I am currently struggling with the payments due to entering a mortgage, as well as some health issues. I wanted to know if:
1. One of my children is almost 20 years of age. Does the sponsorship end when a child reaches a certain age?
2. How to cancel my sponsorship or if there is a way I can suspend my sponsorship for a few months.

I am saddened to have to ask such questions but unfortunately, these are currently some difficult times.

Gayle, I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling financially and with some health issues. I will be praying for God's provision and that you will be brought back to full health and healing. In answer to your questions:
  1. Yes, the sponsorship does end when a child reaches a certain age or completes their program track. The completion age varies between 18 and 22 years of age depending on the country and the relevant programs in their area. I can check your child's anticipated completion date if that would be helpful for you.
  2. We can help you with whatever you need done on your account. We do have some options that may be able to help you to be able to continue the relationship that you have started with your children. For example, we would be happy to cover three months for you and then lower your support amount to $19 per child, per month for up to six months.
Regrettably, I could not locate your account from your email and name. Please post your sponsor number or one of your children's numbers here and we would be happy to help you further.

Good morning, Gayle. I see that your kiddos are actually attached to an Australian account. Are you by any chance sponsoring these children through Compassion Australia? If so, we will need you to get in touch with them directly in order to make these adjustments. This website is specifically attached to USA accounts. I am so sorry for the inconvenience! You can email Compassion Australia at compassion@compassion.com.au, or visit their website at www.compassion.com.au. I hope this is helpful!

My husband and I recently moved due to his job and we at tight with finances right now. I really don't want to cancel my sponsorship because I know my child really needs it. However, I am unsure that we can make this months payment. I feel guilty asking for help since I feel it's my responsibility to take care of my sponsorship. Is there anything I can do to continue my sponsorship through this rough financial time?

Hi. I'm wondering if there is a way to suspend my sponsorship. Financially, I am loosing half my income. I've reached out to friends and people at my church to take over sponsorship of my child, but that has been unfruitful. I'm actively searching for a better paying job, but right now, I cannot support my household. Is there any way to suspend sponsorship until I'm back on my feet? My heart is so heavy.

Hi April! I am so sorry that you are struggling to support yourself financially and continue with this sponsorship as well :(. I know this has to be a hard decision for you, and I may have an offer that could help you while you are working out what to do. Compassion would be able to cover the months of April through June for you, as well as reduce your sponsorship rate to $19 a month from July through December. If that would help you, please do let me know and I will take care of it right away!

My student loans unexpectedly went into repayment when I had to un-enroll during the term due to familial issues and I do not have enough money to continue my sponsorships and pay student loans for the time being. This should only be for a few months until I re-enroll in school and put my loans back in deferment. Is there any way to temporarily suspend payments? I would hate to cancel both of my sponsorships.  Sponsor id: 07315736

Hi Ashley! I'm so sorry to hear of the financial stress you are going through right now :(. Student loans are definitely no fun to deal with, and we pray for God's peace and favor in your life through this process. Please rest assured that I have gone ahead and taken care of your sponsorships of Janeth and Elias from May through July, and you may resume your support in August :). You may continue to write to your kiddos throughout this time, but you will not have to worry about the financial sponsorship. This is our gift to you, so you do not need to worry about reimbursing us. Thank you so much for the love you have for your kiddos, and we appreciate your commitment to them :). God bless you!

I've had an unforseen hardship and will need to either cancel my sponsorship or put it on hold for a few months. If it is possible to put it on hold, please do so for me. I will not have the funds to cover my sponsorship donations starting in June, as I have not worked since May due to an accident and surgery. Hopefully I'll have a speedy recovery and be back to work by the end of June. Please advise soon or I will need to cancel and would rather not do that. Thank you.
