I recently received a letter from my sponsored child where she informed me she is no longer at the center. Iris also wrote she is in a relationship and no longer living at home. She says she is still going to school and then says thank you for sponsoring me goodbye. Is IRIS still being supported by my funding? I just sent her 2 letters along with a birthday gift. Is she going to get the letters and gifts?

David, I am so sorry you received this surprising letter without any confirmation from our office. I checked into your account, but there are no notes indicating that Iris has left Compassion's program. This letter is concerning, and I have sent an inquiry to our office in the Dominican Republic requesting that they investigate what is going on with Iris. If she has indeed been married, she will be leaving the program. It breaks my heart to know she might be married at such a young age, but I pray that the Lord remains first in her life and that she and her husband will grow together in their faith. Did you just send these letters and the gift through the website or in the mail? We should still be able to get those to her just fine :).
