Hi, Emily & Susan! :)  Earlier this fall, I posted a problem entitled "Ethiopia project not following letter guidelines?".  In it, I explained how I have only heard from my correspondent child once this year, though I have written to him often (12 times now, as of October).  I searched for this thread, but couldn't find it, though I referenced it in another thread ("Not hearing from Ethiopia").  Was my post merged with another or removed?  If removed, would you kindly explain why?
In Emily's answer to my post, she recommended that I wait until the end of October.  If no letter came by then, she would look into the matter.  I wanted to let her know that I still have not received a letter from Samuel since June.  The June letter is the only one I have received this calendar year.  He only just turned 6 years old, so it is a project worker who writes his letters.
Thank you for your help!

Many of my kids are in Ethiopia, what center are your kids at? I have seen that there has been a couple posts about kids in Ethiopia not writing.

Hi Audrey,
He is in ET-505.  Do your kids in Ethiopia write often?  He is the only one I have in that country.  I have had some troubles with the translator's handwriting and incomplete translation too.   Just wishing for a closer relationship with this little boy.

I havent received a letter yet, as I am a new sponsor. I got an email today saying that I should be getting my first letters soon. None of my kids have that as their Center name or in their child numbers. But, I would be happy to keep you updated about if and when I get letters from Ethiopia.

I am sorry you have an issue with the translating, that is a bummer. I have 4 financial sponsorship kids, and 6 correspondent kids, and they are from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Rwanda, and India, so it will definitely be interesting to see how the translators vary from kid to kid or country to country. I very much so hope to have close relationships with my kids.

I am extremely anxious to get my first letters from them.

I also have four sponsored children and a bunch of correspondent kids.  Countries are India, Indonesia, Haiti, Philippines, Thailand, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Togo, Colombia, and Ecuador.  My most detailed letters come from my correspondent in Kenya.  My most affectionate letters come from my boys in Colombia and the Philippines.  But they are all special in their own way.  :)  I'm sure you will love being a sponsor and correspondent!

Hi Laura! Please know that your post was not removed. We would never do that because we want you to have a voice here. However, periodically we do archive posts that are currently closed to keep things organized and easier to find since we have thousands of conversations on this website.

As promised, I am sending an inquiry today to our office in Ethiopia. I sincerely apologize for the delay in letters from this child and hope that they will catch up soon.

Thank you, Susan!  Is there a way to access the archived conversations?  Because when I searched with the title, it didn't come up.
Thank you so much for checking into the letter situation with Samuel in Ethiopia.  I hope he and his family are okay, and I'll be interested to hear what you find out.
