We are right at six months for still waiting to hear from Shadrick (Kofi) on the gift we gave in November. I was hoping someone could check on this? I noticed that his profile picture has been updated and so I am hoping that may mean something is coming soon?! It feels like forever since we have heard from him or any of our kids. Thank you!

Melissa, I'm so sorry that you're still waiting on this letter from Shadrick. :( I'm sending an inquiry off to our field office here today and I'll let you know as soon as I receive a response. In the mean time, it looks like we just sent you off a few letters from Sergio and Karla. Hopefully, you will receive these letters very soon.

Thanks again Susan for the reply!
Could you please put me on the list for a correspondence child from India when one is available. That country and its children have been on my heart for awhile now. Thank you and God Bless.

Melissa, we just received a response from our field office in Ghana about the gift you sent to Shadrick. I'm sending you an email with the information. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Thank you so much I will check that! I had a question actually. Our compassion child Karla has been having a hard time dealing with the passing of her grandmother. I believe the grandmother was living with her and helping her mother raise Karla and her siblings. We wish to help her but are not for sure the best way. I thought about planting a tree in her memory here.. and sending her a picture of it. I was wondering though, if there was a way we could help them there; such as, do they need a grave stone, could they plant a tree where they lived in her memory... things like that. I didnt know how much that would  cost or even the procedures there when someone passes... any help is appreciated! In her letter today she seemed very discouraged and mentioned that they no longer attend church :-( Thank you Susan!

Hello again! I wanted to apologize because the email I sent was for you but I had been writing a few emails to different sponsors and I had included a different sponsors name at the top of your email. I'm so sorry for my error and for any confusion it caused! However, I checked over the email  and all the other information was correct and the letter and photo was from Shadrick.

Awe! It sounds like Karla is really struggling. :( While I regrettably cannot tell you what their cultural practices are in regards to the death of a family member, I can say that many sponsors choose to send a family gift to help families with funeral expenses or even just to help supplement the family for a bit after the loss of a breadwinner. If you'd like, you are welcome to send a family gift and the family could use it however would help them the most during this time. I think the planting of a tree in her memory and sending a photo would be a very sweet gesture as well.
