Please adjust my account setting so that I only receive letters from my sponsored children. As of right now, it appears I'm ONLY receiving the "please consider sponsoring this child" and "Compassion Sunday" type mail.  I don't want any of that. I'm not happy with Compassion and I sure as heck don't want to sponsor more children through this program or encourage others to go through all this hassle.

My kids' letters from as far back as February are STILL stuck in limbo. One of Gadiel's letters written in March is still missing but I just received one on the Compassion site written by him on April 17th...which is excellent turn around time of about 6 weeks. I'm supposed to be getting the hard copies as well as the ones on the Compassion sponsor site because of all this mess...but all I'm receiving is the mail encouraging me to sponsor more children. Thank goodness Sarah sent an email with some of the missing letters after writing on here about a month ago. The thing is....THE SITE IS STILL NOT WORKING.

Additionally, mail that my sister (Michelle Rausch) sent to her children and mine full of high quality expensive special stickers apparently has been lost. Mail that she put a LOT of time and effort into. They're all missing...the ones she sent to each of her numerous children as well as my own.

(And before anybody gives me the spiel again about how we need to be patient and leave it to God...I've already had that lecture. I am NOT a happy sponsor and I haven't been for some time. I am, however, encouraged by the latest letter from Gadiel and can only hope that they continue in this manner.)

I just said the same thing in my issue above you.  What a huge waste of time, money and resources to generate and send all this junk mail to people who already are giving.  I said they  need to put that money to improving communication with our children and for the children and families.  The worst part is that you see the Compassion logo or name in the top corner of the mail and you think, HOPE that it is a letter from your child and it is just another request.  I'm fed up too!

You change your own settings in the my account page of the website. Letters online will still depend on the technology in the countries where the children are. Letters sent through the mail will still take longer to get to the kids then online letters, because of the mail delivery systems in the countries where the children are, so I'm not sure why you think the ones you and your sister sent are lost. It's sad that you have to shout angrily at the very people who have helped you and are still doing their best to take care of your concerns. I wonder if you've thought about the thousands of letters that compassion handles everyday from twenty five different countries and fifteen partner countries. That's a huge amount to deal with.

I did that - changed my settings. I'm not an idiot. About six months ago. I'm still getting the "sponsor me!" mail. And I'm still very happy that you're so happy with Compassion...just like I told you the last time you commented on my post on the same issue last month! I am NOT happy and I am allowed to say so.

Regarding your comment about not being sure why we think the letters are lost....it's a very long story and if you care enough to actually know the situation, you will go to the private Compassion sponsors site on Facebook and READ what Michelle Rausch has been through. Both my sister and I are very loving, wonderful people who have basically had enough. If you don't agree, that is entirely your right.

As for the thousands of letters they handle everyday....of course I've thought about it. The letters are a MAJOR part of the program. That's what we sign up with this particular organization for...to help the children and get to know them through letters! That's part of their job...to get our letters back and forth to our children. That's like saying if someone is having problems that they've been trying to get corrected for over a year with the postal service or UPS or FedEx that they shouldn't be upset because of all the other packages that are dealt with on a daily basis.

I ran across your sister's post on a fb site I follow. She was very cordial and polite. Perhaps I'm wrong in answering you when I have no real help for you. It just upsets me to see the folks who are helping us be treated with so much anger. They are good, caring folks who are caught in the middle of several difficult situations.

Marci, I am deeply sorry for the frustrations our mailing shave caused. Please know that it was not our intention to pressure you into giving more, but rather our goal is to raise awareness of opportunities to get involved, should you choose.

Please rest assured that I have updated your communication preferences on your account to only receive your child letters. We take financial integrity very seriously here at Compassion. As a Christian organization, we strive to make everything we do worthy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s all about the kids. That's why 80% or more (the last few years it has been about 83%) of your monthly support goes directly towards programming specifically for your child. The remaining 20% or less is used for administration costs and to help us reach more supporters and children.

I sincerely apologize that your letters are taking much longer than normal to be delivered. I’m so glad that we were able to send you some of your children’s letters, and I am so happy to hear that you receivership's letter so quickly! I hear your heart’s desire to connect and build meaningful relationships with your precious children. We are incredibly grateful for the huge impact you are having in your children’s lives, and we're so sorry for the system issues that have impacted your ability to develop these relationships. Compassion has several teams of IT professionals working hard to resolve these system issues as we speak.

I completely understand your concerns regarding the very thoughtful mailings your sister has sent. Please rest assured that we are looking into this for her, and we will be responding to her post on our Compassion Correspondents Facebook page as soon as possible. We are so thankful for the love, time, and effort that you and your sister put into your letters and gifts for your children, and we are committed to resolving this issue promptly.

Beth and Linda, thank you so much for letting us know that you would no longer like to receive these mailings. Please rest assured that I have updated your communication preferences as well.

Thank you for updating the preferences for us. And THANK YOU for trying to help my sister.  My sister throws absolutely everything she has into sending special mailings (hard copy and email) to the children. Even mine. She gives them her all...it's not just a hobby or something she does. She is the person that got me to sponsor in the first place and has given so much to all her children. If you could only know how much effort and time it took to get those packets together, then you would understand why she is so distraught. It's not the money. It's the caring. She loves too much. And she is the one who has continued to encourage me to keep trying....when I've lost hope and becomed disillusioned with Compassion's "improvements", or because of my military disability she steps in and sends letters so the children have mail. Thanks to her, any money sent to my kids gets matched dollar for dollar...which enabled me to send extra to the children and also to Gadiel's center. SHE is the one to focus on...I will try and hang in there even though as Linda has pointed out, it's actually been two years now that the problems have been going on. I've always thought of myself as a patient and understanding person, but this has been very taxing. Sorry this is not eloquent and written well - I got some very bad news today and I am now exhausted. Anyway, thank you. I do appreciate all the work you guys do. Never meant to imply otherwise and if you felt that way, I am sorry.

Hi Marci,

I want you to know that you and your sister are BOTH amazing! I cannot tell you how much we appreciate our supporters. Every supporter is special in their own way and loves their children differently. I truly believe this is what is so amazing about our God... He has given us all very special gifts, and very special ways to show love. We know that this time is super difficult and we know that its not very fun, for any of us. BUT, we know that our Compassion family is special and far beyond worth it. Thank you both for sticking with us!

Additionally, I am so sorry to hear that you received bad news... Please know that I will be praying for you this weekend! :)

Please let us know if we can help with anything else! Have a very blessed weekend!

I'd like to have this setting changed on my account too, please. No more mail unless it's a letter from one of my children.
