Switching from original letters to email notifications of letters

So I am one of the sponsors who has had multiple letters stuck in transit pretty much this entire year (ever since the system upgrade). I write to 11 girls and have had quite a few letters all stuck in transit which has become very frustrating for me, and every letter I have coming my way is stuck in transit.  I have not been able to view a single letter online that has been written to me since late last year.  Anyway, my account has been set up this entire time to receive original letters (and I have started getting some of the original letters in the mail, although a few are not translated), but yesterday I switched my account to receive email notifications instead to view them online only.  I decided to switch over based on a comment that someone else made on this blog about getting email notifications, and it seemed to me that people who are set up that way are not having problems with letters stuck in transit.  Well, I switched over to email notifications yesterday, and amazingly (!) I got an email notification this morning that I had a letter from one of my girls.  It is fairly new in the system, it came very fast and it is not stuck! I can actually view it online!  Is it possible that all these letters stuck in transit are because people are coded to receive either original letters or even copies of the letters?  I just wanted to put this out there so that if anyone else is having problems with stuck letters, maybe try looking into how you are set up to receive the letters in order to resolve the problem.  Thanks!

Hi Anne! I am SO glad that you got the email notification this morning for your letters. For sponsors whose letter preference is set to receive the original letter, the letters are not actually stuck in the system usually. It just means that we are waiting for the original letter to arrive in our Colorado office before we are able to upload it to the sponsor account and mail the letter to the address on the sponsor's account. Sadly, there's just not a way for us to upload the letter to the sponsor's account before we receive the original letter in our office. Thanks for helping give other sponsors the heads up about this situation!
