I'm wondering, is any portion of the cost of any of the sponsor trips is tax deductible?

I checked with my cousin's husband who is an accountant about this last year and my understanding is that it is not. I'm curious (and keeping my fingers crossed) that someone will post something to the contrary, though, because that would be awesome.

Hi Rachel! Regrettably, any money put towards the sponsor tours is not actually tax deductible. However, any donations you make to Compassion (monthly sponsorship, gifts, etc) are.

Hi Rachel. If you want to visit your sponsor child this was suggested to me. You can give the money to your church designated to missions and they can send the money to Compassion.
