Thank you Compassion International!

I want to thank Compassion International for all that you do.  I have been a child sponsor for over 10 years.  I have in the past and am now a sponsor through other ministries.  Thank you for making child sponsorship beautiful.  I really do mean that.  I remember having to wait months to receive letters in the mail and I cherished every one of them.  Now with electronic means, we are able to write more to each other and send many pictures... up to 13 for each letter!  I know it has just made our relationships stronger as we are able to share more with each other.  I am so grateful for my children.  I am grateful for Compassion and how you encourage and will almost do anything to maintain relationships between the children and their sponsors.  Thank you for all of the networking you provide.  I have friended someone in another state, who I have never met personally, and we have been friends for at least 8 years if not more.  Every time I call the staff at Compassion are so kind.  Even if there is a problem, which we are human and should expect them from time to time, they are usually resolved very quickly.  I have been to many Compassion events.  You may meet as strangers, but you will always leave as friends sharing a common love for these children and families.  There are really not enough words in the English dictionary for me to describe how thankful I am for Compassion and how appreciative I am of what you are doing around the world.  It takes everyone working together and Christ at the center!

Laura,
If you can imagine, there is nothing more rewarding than reading positive posts like yours. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your heart with us! I would love to share your post at our next department meeting. Would that be okay with you? I want all of our representatives to have the opportunity to hear your wonderful, inspiring message! :)

Yes Shannon, of course you may share this. The other piece I did not add is about 6 years ago, I was in a financial hardship. I cried and prayed because I did not want to lose my kids. I think I had 2 with Compassion and 1 with another ministry. I was making my comittments.... trying to, but was consistently 2 months behind. Compassion called about it and I was so sad. Compassion paid to get me caught up and I have never missed a comittments since by the loving grace and blessings of God. Also, I now have 9 beautiful children!! This brings tears to my eyes because if you new some of my story, there is no way this would be possible without God. I give him the glory. I would rather live with less so these children can feel the love of Jesus and hopefully have a brighter future. #SpeakLife
Thanks so much again. I tell everyone that my dream job would be to work for Compassion. I am a nurse in Ohio and I care for those with disabilities.

I second that!! Very well said! And a quick note on how Compassion has changed OUR family. We first sponsored a child in the mid1990s so our children grew up with Compassion and writing to our child. I later sponsored more children, became a correspondent, & now have a total of 34 kids! My daughter thought I was crazy!! And then came Miguel. I was preparing for an event and had a table full of packets of children needing sponsors. Jessica saw Miguel's cute little face and knew she had to sponsor him. He was 5, and she was a broke college student, but she faithfully paid her sponsorship fees every month, plus a birthday gift each year. Miguel struggled with writing to her and she learned literacy was a problem in the Dominican Republic. Her love for Miguel inspired her to go through the rigorous process of becoming a US Peace Corps volunteer, including learning Spanish, to serve as a Spanish language promoter in his country working with young children teaching them to read. And on Monday, Compassion worked with Jessica to arrange a private tour to meet Miguel and his family and visit his project!! She met the boy who inspired her to serve in the Peace Corps! Miguel is 10 now and they had a WONDERFUL day together. Jessica said her heart was overflowing! (And sweet Miguel bawled when they had to say goodbye.) Thanks to Compassion International's wonderful program, thanks to the wonderful Compassion employees who've helped us all along the way (Janna Reynolds, all of the social media ladies, all the ones who answer phone calls, the Facebook pages), thanks to other sponsors who offer encouragement, prayers & letter-writing ideas, thanks to JESUS!!
