I sponsored Nakhuan from Thailand until recently, when she left the sponsorship program. Two weeks ago, I called Compassion about her leaving and said on the call that I'd pick a child to transfer my sponsorship to in her place. Later on that day I signed up online to sponsor Hermin from Indonesia, and I put a note on the sign-up page that I wanted to transfer Nakhuan's sponsorship to Hermin. As of today, Hermin hasn't been added to my online account yet and I just received a child packet in the mail asking me to transfer Nakhuan's sponsorship to Kwasi from Ghana. Maybe things just crossed in the mail, but I wanted to make sure that there is indeed a note out there somewhere that I want to transfer Nakhuan's sponsorship to Hermin, and that I'll receive Hermin's packet soon? Much as I'd like to, I can't sponsor Kwasi as well right now.

Hi Gina! I am so sorry for the confusion with transferring this sponsorship over to a new child :(. I cannot find Hermin on your account anywhere, nor can I see that the sponsorship transaction was even completed. Do you know Hermin's child ID? Did you receive a confirmation email after you signed up to sponsor Hermin instead?

I did receive a confirmation email, but unfortunately it doesn't have her ID and I didn't write it down anywhere.

Gina, thank you so much for following up with me! I was able to find Hermin in the system, but her packet is actually now at an event that I cannot pull her off of. We recently transitioned to a new internal system and were seeing several issues with new sponsorships going through in January and the beginning of February. From what I see, Hermin's was one of them :(. I am so sorry that her sponsorship didn't go through! Though I cannot put her on your account, we can help you find another child and replace Kwasi with a different child if you are still interested in doing so.

Yes, I'd still like to sponsor another child. Should I sign up to sponsor someone online and send you their ID just in case?

Yes, Gina, that is what I would recommend. I want to make it as easy for you as possible online as well. First, log into your online account. Once you have logged on, you should see a message below the words "Account Summary" that says something like "Nakhuan is no longer in the sponsorship program. Click on the link to accept another child or for more options." Click on the blue highlighted portion of that, which will bring up a new screen. Then click on "I prefer to search for a different child." You'll then be able to find a child you want to sponsor and essentially swap that preferred child out for Kwasi. If you have any trouble at all, let me know! I'm happy to help walk you through it!
