Translation time way too long

I am concerned because if it takes 3 months for my letters to get to my sponsored child in Bolivia why are most of my letters still in translation with your system when I wrote them I almost 2 months ago. I first called about it and immediately right after my call one letter was out of translation. It felt like a huge red flag went off in my head. Because it took for me to actually call you guys and all of a sudden one letter was out of translation in a month. Conveniently it was the letter were I had send my sponsor child three monetary gifts .... A child gift, family gift and center gift. I feel very discouraged , I understand that you get an abundant amount of mail but, It blows my mind that your turn around in translation takes so long. My letters were written in perfect Spanish since that is my Native language not quiet sure why your online program is also taking so long for your technology support team to fix the glitches . I feel very discourage and would hate to think this is a scam and not Gods' s work taking place. With the technology that we have in the USA it should not take 3 months for our letters to be translated. Notice how I did not mention in getting to our sponsored children that process I can unterstand but online letters are not snail mail. Please ease my concerns.

Hi Marcela, I'm another sponsor like you but wanted to share my experience. Currently I have 13 kids and have been a sponsor for many years. Until this April, all letter were printed off in Colorado before being mailed to country offices to be translated and delivered to centers. This process took about 3 months.
In April, Compassion started using a new system that sends letters electronically to the country office to be translated, printed and sent to the local centers. This is meant to speed up the process. However, since being implemented they've run into some issues.

One issue is getting all countries up to speed and able to use the new program flawlessly. Remember, the people running the offices in the field are locals, many of which are learning this new process too.

Another issue is the translation program, which they've run into some unforseen problems. Before April every letter was manually translated, and with the issues they've been having with the translation software they've temporarily gone back to manually translation. Regardless of if you write in your child's native language or not, the letter will still go through translation to check content.
Most likely what happened with yours is the operator manually pushed your letter through after you called because they were trying to help you out and give you some peace of mind!

Compassion has been working around the clock to get these bugs worked out so that the letters will start to move faster, as was the original plan. They could use our prayers through this process!
