Hello,

I used to sponsor a child in India but my sponsorship ended when the problem with Indian government shut down the sponsorship. After, I didn't sign up for any other sponsor child but I saw today that I was charged for a child (my last sponsor ended around March and I was charged today, May 22).

Can I get a refund for the unauthorized charge and get my sponsor status fixed?
Thank you.

Someone from Compassion can certainly help you with this! All India sponsors were sent out packets with new children to consider and instructions on what to do if you didn't want to sponsor a new child. It sounds like you may not have gotten yours! (This is actually standard procedure anytime a child leaves the program - a new child is sent to the sponsor for consideration)

UnYoung, I am so sorry for the confusion and for the charge to your account yesterday. Like Kristen mentioned, we sent out packets on new children for sponsorship consideration when sponsors of India children lost their kids. The letter included with the packet states that we would need to hear from you if you decided not to continue sponsorship, but it sounds like this may not have reached you. I am so sorry if you didn't receive this packet in the mail. I will remove the child from your account and make the request for the refund today. Let me know if I can help you further!

Thank you!
My account is telling me that compassion mails are being returned so I should check my address but I have the correct address on my account. I'm not really sure why the mails are not reaching me and are being returned.

UnYoung, I took care of removing the undeliverable notice for you. It's possible that the mailman just got confused on one occasion and sent something back to us on accident. Please let us know if the issue persists!

Alright, thank you!

Sorry but one more question. How long would the refund process take?

Hi UnYoung. Due to India closing and the new system having a few bugs, we are about six to eight weeks behind on processing refunds. I am truly sorry. I know this is a long time to wait! We appreciate your patience and understanding!
