I haven’t gotten any updated information or letters from Maykol since the initial packet came and it was conflicting with what was initially given when we signed up. Can I get some updated information?

Hi Donna! I am sorry that you have not heard from Maykol yet. I would love to to look into this for you. Would you mind providing your child number or sponsor number?

Thank you for providing that information. I am so sorry for the time that it has taken for you to receive a letter from him. I do show that Maykol has written you letter a while back. I apologize if you didn't receive that. I have sent you another copy of that to you in the mail. Sometimes letters can take a few months to get to you - once a child writes a letter, it still has to be sent to the National Office, translated there (along with all the other letters from all the other centers in that country), and then scanned into our system. After that process has been taken place, it needs to time to be mailed to you. Please let us know if you do not receive a letter within the next few months.

I did get one but it talked about his mom and dad and siblings. From the packet I was given and the information on line it said he was being raised by his dad that his mom had passed away and didn't mention any siblings. I'm not sure which one is the current or accurate information.

Donna, I do see that letter in your account. To me, it sounds like his mom and siblings may be a stepmom and stepsiblings as his mother is no longer alive. It could be that his father was the only one at home when his information was updated last month, causing the staff member entering the information to only record his father. Since the information we have says that he is only living with is dad and this letter conflicts that, I am sending an inquiry on your behalf today to have this information verified. Inquiries can take up to eight weeks to be replied to at the national office in Honduras. Once we receive a reply from their office regarding who he is currently living with, we will contact you with that information. In the meantime, please let us know if we can help you with anything else!
