I love being a correspondence sponsor. I am grateful to be able to bring joy to a child's heart and encourage the children (and their families) with the Word of God. With that said, I am asking you all to pray for me, my situation, and my ability to continue uplifting these children as I go through this struggle. I recently was unjustly let go from my job and I desperately need a new one. I don't want to slip into despair. I want to be able to focus on my correspondence kids, encourage them, and not neglect them in any way due to my circumstances. I believe you all are truly people of great compassion and so, if you can find the time to say a prayer for me and my correspondence kids as well, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and God bless :)

God bless you for being a correspondent to Compassion children! I have 4 correspondent kids of my own that I am very thankful for! :) I just said a prayer for you and I will continue to pray for you, your situation, and your correspondence kids. Don't give up. The Lord knows your situation and won't forget about you. :) How wonderful it is to have this community to come together and pray for each other! :)

I will be praying for you and your correspondence kids too, Mstamb. I'm sorry that you lost your job. It sounds like you have a wonderful heart for the Lord and for children. I know that you will get through this... one day at a time.

mstamb, I'm breathing a prayer for you today. I know personally what it is like to lose a job unjustly and will be praying for you as I know just how disheartening this can be. You might consider sending a letter to each of your kids and ask them to be praying for you. I know many of the kids pray daily for their sponsors and they would probably love to have something specific to be praying for you about. Also, it would help explain if there is a little (completely understandable) gap in your letters to them as you grapple with this change. May God bless you and keep you in this time and always.

Thank you, Susan. It doesn't feel good at all, but I'm trusting God that good will come out of this situation. I will definitely follow your suggestion. I had thought about letting the kids know, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate and I didn't want to share bad news. But, it is important to be honest with them and I would appreciate their prayers too. Thank you for your prayers and time.

mstamb, I pray that God would provide for you, and that your kids will understand if the letters don't come as often. I had a lot of stuff going on with family last year, and changes that made it difficult to write as often as I use to, but I would hope that my kids understand and that yours will too. Sometimes a short note, a Bible verse, or a coloring page is easier to send and still lets your kids know you are thinking of them. Sponsors are human too, and friends stick with each other through the ups and downs. Hold on to the hope that all things work together for the good of those who love Him.

Thank you, Beth. I'm grateful for your prayers. I pray things are better with you and your family since you've had your difficulties. I still have my Valentine's items to mail out to my kids and I usually go big when sending out for holidays, but I've just been so overwhelmed emotionally that I can't get the packages together. I plan to email letters soon though. I totally agree - it's so important to have great friends to help each through the different stages of life. I thank you for your encouragement. God bless you and you be encouraged as well.

Prayers said for you and thank you for blessings your correspondent kiddos with your loving letters. I also think they would love the opportunity to lift you and your situation up in prayer. John 16:33 and Jeremiah 29:11 are two of my favorite verses when I am facing hard circumstances. God bless you!
