If it has been six months since you last received a letter from Ivander, they want to know. They will send a request to the center to get Ivander to write you a letter (For young children, their tutor can write their letter if they cannot do it themselves and their family cannot do it. Most of my kids have letters written by tutors but it still sounds very much like them.)  That is the longest you should go. 4 months from sponsorship date before you get the first letter and no more than 6 months between letters.  If you are writing, then you will likely get response letters more quickly than that. But the time to request them to check is still 6 months.

Andrea, I am so sorry to hear that you have not heard from your precious baby boy for three months. I understand your concerns for him, and we are incredibly grateful for your caring heart to ensure he is well. Please rest assured that Ivander is receiving all the care he needs through his Compassion center because of your faithful sponsorship. It is true that, due to the many variables involved and the time required for letter processing, it may take several months to receive responses to your letters. However, as Sarah stated, you should never go more than six months without a letter, and we ask that you please let us know if this ever happens. Since your relationship with Ivander is still quite new, it may take some time for regular reciprocal letters to arrive. You are a great letter writer, and the more letters you write the more you should receive in return up to about 6 letters per year. I encourage you to continue writing to your sweet boy, and I'm sure you will receive a response soon :). Thank you so much for your amazing heart for your child!
