I was so excited to notice that there were two videos of my Correspondent child, Zakaria from Indonesia, on his profile! I was able to view the video from his center with no problem, but for some reason I cannot get his home visit video to play. Is there any way to have this sent seperately so I can watch it? Either way, thank you for these videos! It is such a blessing to see where he is learning and growing in Christ!

I have this issue also with my child, Abdias, from the DR, except I have the opposite problem: the home visit plays perfectly well, but I have never been able to get the center video to play.

Hi Rebekah and Emily! I'm so sorry to hear that either your child's home visit video or the center video is not loading for you :(. I understand how precious their videos truly are! I am sending this to our technical team for further assistance, and we will work hard to get these videos working for you once again :). Are you receiving any specific errors? Rebekah, what happens when you try to play Zakaria's video using http://mychild.info/ID014500181? Will you both please test this in more than one web browser please and clear your browser's history, cache, and cookies? Any additional information would be very helpful for our technical team to resolve this issue for you :). Thank you!

Mine is doing the same thing with whichever browser I pull it up in. I can see the thumbnail picture but when I click to play, it goes to black and there is a message saying the video is unavailable.

I just checked the link you posted again and this time the thumbnail came up and when I clicked to play the video it did not go black, but the loading symbol appeared and it will not load.

Hi Rebekah and Emily! I have wonderful news from our IT Team! They were able to resolve and test your videos, and they appear to be fixed!! Will you please test and verify that your child home visit and center videos are working now? Thank you :).

Hi Christina! I have tested the video again on Safari and Firefox on my Mac laptop, and I also tested it on Internet Explorer on my desktop at my office, and unfortunately I still cannot get the video to load. A little circle now just spins and spins and spins until eventually the screen goes black and I get the same message as before.

No problem! If it can't be fixed then it is what it is. I'm just happy I have his home visit video! That one works perfectly.

Nobody is getting videos anymore, Marci. It is my understanding that this was an old campaign that Compassion was doing to help boost sponsorships. I assume it is similar to what World Vision does (every available child has a video of themselves which you can watch before you sponsor them). It appears they only did it for a few projects, probably as a test, and then when they determined it really didn't boost sponsorships at all, they stopped doing it. I have this on only one of my kids' profiles, and I sponsor 12 children and correspond with 5 more. It just so happens that his project (I guess) was part of this campaign. The videos are a couple years old at this point and new ones have not been created, so you're actually not missing out on anything.

Marci, Emily is correct. Any sponsors who have videos have them because of the test we were doing several years ago to see if  short videos introducing the children would help us find sponsors for them faster. Sadly, the results were showing that doing the videos, which were expensive to make, were not getting the results that would have been needed to continue with them. I know you are frustrated about the letters, and we are working to figure out exactly what is going on with them because we know how important those are.
