hi Everyone. I am looking at my letter history, it shows my first letter I can only just "view".. the other two I sent afterwards  I can "view" but it also  states they are  also "in translation"?.. does that mean the first letter was processed?  I just wrote her another letter today.. I don't know if  that first letter always showed only "view"?  or if that status recently changed.  Thanks guys...

If you can only "view" a letter, it means that it is done processing through the system. I would assume that you didn't see the "in translation" marker on your first letter, because it went through the translation process in the time between when you wrote the letter and next checked your letter history.

ok. thanks so much..Also I meant to ask... I gave a $25 gift to my child and a $25 gift to her family .. does anyone now if they acknowledge that they received that gift or if they will not because the gift was only $25 each.. It is totally ok.. I just was following up on the gift end of things.. you can track the letters, but can you track the monetary gifts?  Thank you so very much for your quick response

You should receive a letter acknowledging your gift, no matter what the gift amount is. (In the future, if you want to give a gift of $60 or more, then you'll get a picture of what your sponsor child bought, in addition to the letter.) This letter should get to you up to 6 months after you send the gift. Gifts take 2-3 months to reach your sponsor child, because Compassion sends all the money to a country in one wire transfer each month. You can't track monetary gifts the way you can track a letter, but you can know the general time frame for when your sponsor child should receive your gift (2-3 months for the money to get to your child, and then 6 months after you send the gift you'll get a letter).

Thank you Caroline for your very helpful answers!

Hi Patricia! Caroline's answers are spot on! :) Your thank you letter from your kiddo is your confirmation that they have indeed received your generous gifts :). Please do let us know if you have not received a thank you letter 6 months from when you gave your gift though. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Have a blessed day!
