The children shown who have waited the longest, if they don't have sponsors are they still being taken care of? What kind of care are they receiving w/o a sponsor?

Yes, they receive the same care as sponsored children.  Once they are registered, their sponsorship will be paid for out of the Unsponsored Kids fund (which is funded by donations) until they are able to find a sponsor to cover them.  This is for all registered children, not just the "longest waiting" ones. It's a temporary solution but they will not be kicked out of the program for not having a sponsor for too long or if the child's sponsor has to drop them.

The one thing they won't get is the letters from a sponsor, the chance to build a relationship with the sponsor, or just the knowledge that someone chose them and that feeling of acceptance that that brings.  I imagine it must be pretty hard for the older ones that wait a long time to see all their friends get chosen but not them...the "longest waiting list" makes me feel sad for those kids for that reason, but they WILL get to attend the program, get their bible, tutoring, and nutritious meals at the project, their school supplies, and whatever else their individiual project provides.

(I'm not staff, just another sponsor, but I have a lot of kids so happened to know the answer to your question, hope that helps.)
