My husband signed up at a road show18. We still want to sponsor but didn't have payment with us. We also didn't know we'd be handed a random child. We are unable to have kids of our own and want to sponsor a child with a specific date...how do I make sure the child we were handed gets new sponsor and we can then choose the date we'd like to have? Thank you.

Did you turn in a completed packet? If so that child would be on hold waiting for you to make your first payment. Compassion put that child back up for sponsorship and you can go on the website and search for the child you'd like to sponsor. You can search using several different criteria, including birthdate.

Hi Michele! I am so sorry for the confusion with choosing a child to sponsor. If you didn't turn in the sponsorship form with your information on it, you can actually discard it and pick a child with a specific birthdate through our website very easily! Kristen's instructions on how to do that are great :). The packets that are printed for events like the Roadshow have expiration dates on them. If no one turns in a completed sponsorship form by the time the expiration date comes, we simply place the child back up for sponsorship at another event or through our website. You won't need to send that packet back into us. If you did ´╗┐turn in the packet complete with all of your information except the card information, we can change the child to one that you do want to sponsor with that specific birthdate if one is available. We wouldn't be able to do that until the packet arrives in our office and is processed though. Let me know what you ended up doing and I can help you from there!
