We started sponsoring Chilla in January. We have not heard from her at all. When should we expect something from her?

Hi Gretchen! I'm another sponsor like you, but I'm sorry that you haven't heard from Chilla yet. I know how excited you must be to start getting to know your sponsored child, and I want to encourage you that the waiting is hardest at first and my hope is that you will hear from Chilla very soon and begin to get into a routine of sending and receiving letters from her often.

Thank you so much for your patience and for blessing Chilla with a gift and your encouraging letters; your kind, encouraging words will mean so much to her! You should normally receive an introductory letter from your child within four months of sponsoring them, and it sounds like you're past that, so the ladies that monitor this forum at Compassion will probably do an inquiry for you on Monday if they don't see a letter on the way in their system.

I believe there has been a bit of a slowdown in letter processing during the last few months since Compassion just launched a new letter writing system in April which will greatly speed up communications between sponsors and their kids once it's fully implemented. Prior to April, it was taking two to three months for letters to travel both ways but the new system will help reduce that to weeks instead of months going forward, which is very exciting! Please know that Compassion will ensure that Chilla receives your gift and all of your letters, and I would just encourage you to keep writing to her and building her up in Christ with your letters while you wait to hear from her. I hope you have a blessed weekend!

I have a 9 year old daughter. I also have a 14 year old daughter. I am seeking sponsors for them. I will encourage them to communicate well with ones who help them in time of need. Contact me. You won't be disappointed.
My youngest is attending a music camp as of last week. My income is very limited right now. I'm squeezing out this money for her to attend there. My oldest child is looking for her first job. How do I go about getting a sponsor for them? Please help.

Good afternoon, Shakia! I would happy to help you. Compassion registers new children into the program who are 9 years or younger, so it might be possible to register your 9 year old daughter in one of our centers. If you can please send us an email to socialmedia@us.ci.org and provide us with the country and town that you live in, we will try and locate the closest center to your home. Then, we will be able to provide you with additional information on where you can take your daughter and request that she be registered.

Hello Gretchen! I am so sorry you still have not heard from your sweet girl, Chilla :(. Emily actually replied to your other post here, letting you know that we are sending an inquiry to check on Chilla and have her write a letter to you right away. I know you'll be thrilled when that letter does make it's way to you!
