Hi Stephen! Thank you so much for taking the time to askthis question and for your obvious heart towards those who face the very realpossibility of human trafficking every day! Compassion is committed to fightingchild abuse and exploitation in the many forms that takes, includingtrafficking.

Through our local churches, we provide a positive and safeenvironment where children can learn and play while committed, caring adultsare watching over them to care for them with dignity, respect and integrity atall times. We prevent and/or reduce the risks of the incidence of child abusethrough enforcing child-protection policies, strategies and procedures. EveryCompassion child development center is required to implement a local plan ofaction for protection against child abuse and exploitation. The staff at thelocal projects do receive training on child abuse and exploitation so they knowhow to recognize and respond if or when they see it happen, and Compassion regularlymonitors implemented policies to ensure that expectations are fulfilled.

Compassion also partners with International Justice Mission(IJM), which is an organization that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. IJM documents and monitors conditions ofabuse and oppression, educates the church and public about the abuses, andmobilizes intervention on behalf of victims.
