I have been sponsoring a little girl from the Philippines and would really like to go on one of the group trips to that country. I would love to meet my sponsor child as well as see what the country is like that she lives in. I see they will have another in Nov 2019 and Im excited. It says it is a "CauseTrek" What does that mean? There are no details for the trip listed yet so Im curious. Thank you!

Hi Krista! We'd love for you to be able to visit your sweet girl in the Philippines! CauseTrek trips are set up for you and other trekkers the opportunity to do a more extreme activity while in the country, for example: hiking the Inca trail in Peru, summiting Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I don't remember what the big experience is in the Philippines at this time. In addition, you will be able to meet your child and visit a Compassion center. You'll also have the opportunity to raise funds on behalf of the children we serve in the Philippines, the fund we raise money for differing for each CauseTrek trip. I do want to caution that CauseTrek trips are more strenuous than our other trips and is not recommended for sponsors who have difficulty with certain physical activities such as walking over uneven/unpaved surfaces, climbing stairs, and sustained periods of hiking moderate to steep terrain. I hope that helps!
