What is this site for? I kinda like this format, but why didn't you combine this and "Our Compassion"? I think people won't like being members of more than one community and having to check multiple sites, when this is really all one group and topic. I'm a little confused I guess.

This site is meant to be like a user-generated faq site. Our hope is that this will eventually be combined with OC and the Compassion.com website too.

Brett pretty much sums it up. This site hopes to differ from being "account" specific. Instead of asking personal questions about your account on here, we hope that it will be used as a quick guide to answer questions. It will be great if we are able to combine it with our other communities as well.

ok thanks. That would be very cool if the sites were combined somehow, as I do prefer this type of format to how parts of the Our Comassion site work. I do see the need for this type of thing, but would be more excited to see the two sites working as one for easier access.

I feel that Ourcompassion is truly a community where sponsors can get to know each other and discuss sponsorships, poverty, HIV/AIDS, prayer requests, etc.
This community will be used to provide sponsors an easy and efficient way to find answers to their general Compassion related questions and give feedback about the ministry. The two sites have different focuses, but are similar in the overall goal of creating an open and real sponsorship experience.

It seems as if quite a few people post questions on this community support forum that require CI to look up their specific account information. Perhaps if the tab on the left of the compassion.com accounts that says Questions? was routed to a webpage that listed CI's phone number, web form and email address as well as this support website then less people would get the wrong impression that they must join this community to ask a question or that it is the only way to contact CI. Then maybe there could be information listing that all specific account questions should be submitted to CI directly via phone, email or web form, for the most efficient processing. I think this website is excellent for some general questions as well as for those who aren't on OC and have tons of questions about sponsoring :-) But, not everyone posting seems to realize it is a community support forum. I would have hoped that most people know they can call CI, but judging from the type of questions here, not everyone realizes calling or emailing CI is an option or the best option for their questions.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Change compassion.com 'Questions?' tab routing to all CI contact info.

I agree with the purpose of this site as listed above. I only posted that as it seems quite a few people post questions that are personal questions about one's account on here, which as Amanda mentioned above, is not the purpose of this site. As the compassion.com account 'questions' tab on the left directs people here, some people seem a bit too fast to type in a question instead of reading the sidebar on the right that does direct people to how to privately contact CI.
