Our family has been sponsoring a little girl since December of 2015. Right away my daughter filled out our family intro letter with pictures and sent it to her. We have not received anything back from her. Friends of ours who started sponsorship the same time we did have received multiple letters from their child. Can you please tell me why we haven't received any yet?

Hi Melissa - I am just another sponsor, like you, but I would think you should be hearing very soon!  Usually, that first letter arrives within the first 4 months of sponsorship.  Being it looks like it has been longer than that, you can contact Compassion and ask them to send an "inquiry" for you.  (I think it's 4 months for the first letter, and 6 months after that before inquiries can be sent.)   You may also want to check your account on line and see if a letter is waiting there for you.   Compassion has recently changed over to doing things on-line, which is making letters sent that way come (much) faster.

Hi Melissa! I am sorry you haven't heard from Ritu yet as you should have by now. Like JMM mentioned, that first letter should arrive within the first four months of the sponsorship. It has now been five months since you started sponsoring Ritu without receiving a letter from her. I am sending an inquiry to our country office in India today to figure out what is going on. It's possible Ritu has a letter ready for you and just forgot to bring it back to the project. Nevertheless, the project will make sure she writes a letter and sends it out to you right away. It does usually take between six and eight weeks to hear back from the country office regarding these matters, but we will contact you as soon as we have heard back from them. Also, I would encourage you to not wait for that letter from Ritu to write to her again. I know your first letter brought much encouragement to her and she would love to hear from you again. The more you write, the more Ritu will get to know your family and write back to you as well :)! Now would be a great time to ask her if they have a celebration to honor their mothers in India and let her know what you did to celebrate your special day too.

Hi Gretchen! Thank you so much for choosing to support sweet Chilla! Our records indicate that you began supporting your sweet girl on February 16th. It's been just over four months and that is when you should be receive your first letter from your girl. I'm so sorry that you haven't received your introduction letter from her yet. I'm sending an inquiry for you this morning to our office in East Indonesia to request that she write you a letter and to ensure she's doing well. It can take up to 45 days to receive a response but know that we'll contact you as soon as we hear back from them! My hope is that it's very soon and that they already have a letter on its way to you from her :). Thanks for being so patient and for your desire to invest in her life!

Melissa, I am so sorry for the delay in letters and hearing from us about this inquiry. We just reached out again to our office in India about Ritu a few days ago and will have an update for you within fifteen days.
