It's been nearly six months since we sponsored our child in Ecuador. Can you tell me how much longer before we receive our first letter? We have received two sets of updated photos from Compassion, but no personal letters.

Wow! Two sets of updated photos, they typically update photos every two years unless the sponsor sends a substantial gift. Your child must have been waiting for a lsponsor for a long time. Thank you for taking this child. I'm just another sponsor, but it should only take four months for a first letter, and less after that. The ladies who monitor this site will be able to help you. I just wanted to welcome you to compassion.

Donna, I am so sorry you have waited so incredibly long for the first letter! Most sponsors receive the first letter withing four months of sponsorship and it is not normal to go longer than six months without a letter. I am so glad you contacted us. It does look like it has been quite a while since you've received a letter from either of your children. I show that you started sponsoring your most recently sponsored child, Marlon in Ecuador, in December 2016 and then in March 2017 we merged accounts and he was transferred to a new account. I believe that confused things a bit, but you are right that you should have received a letter by now. I am sending an inquiry to make sure everything is alright, clear any confusion, and request that Marlon writes to you as soon as possible. I also see that it has been a long time since the last letter from your child in Indonesia so I am sending an inquiry for that as well.

Actually, Donna, after looking further, it looks like your other child from Indonesia is being written to by another family member of yours so all is well there. I do have the inquiry in for Marlon though.
