Hi,

Please can you tell us if/when we might receive a photo of our other three children with their gifts and some kind of note acknowledging the receipt of the gifts and what they were used to buy?

My husband and I are #07160500 . We sponsor four children: Harouna (BF031600279), Joan (UG081600345), Keyla (HA066905109), and Sterson (HA075000415).  We began sponsoring these four 7/31 and 8/1.  In August, we sent each a family gift, and we sent Joan her birthday gift. In September, we sent each a family gift, and we sent Harouna his birthday gift. We sent Keyla her birthday gift just last month; we know it's way too early to expect anything about that.

We received introductory letters from Joan (9/29), Keyla (10/6), and Sterson (10/11).  This thrilled us!!! Then, in December, we received two letters from Harouna, an introductory letter on 12/14 and a letter and photo on 12/23, thanking us for a gift or gifts.  Finding out what his family had been able to purchase and seeing his photo with new clothes on, surrounded by the food they'd bought, gave us immense pleasure and satisfaction that we made the right decision to sponsor through CI.  While our certainty about CI and commitment to our sponsored children have in no way diminished, we're truly looking forward to hearing something back from the others about what they were able to get with the extra money we sent and to getting photos of the children with their gifts.

I know there's a time lag, and I understand it's not as easy in some countries to get photos, especially given the recent hurricane in Haiti that, thank the Lord, spared our two children and their families who live there.  I understand about the software issues, grateful for software that enables us to track letters and gifts and even re-read letters.  Having gone through many software conversions in my life, I totally understand the trials and patiently await the rewards. No complaints.  But if you could let us know when we might expect some acknowledgement of our gifts, we'd appreciate it very much.  We'd like to know what we, with your help, were able to accomplish for these precious ones. Getting the acknowledgment and photo from Harouna was such a joy for us, we're eager for more of the same!

Thank you for understanding and for taking time to reply.  We truly appreciate your hard work and diligence to make all this possible for us and for the children.

Hi Mitchel and Kathleen! Thank you so much for checking into this with us and for sharing the excitement you have in sponsoring these four sweet children :). I'm so glad that you received letters from Harouna detailing what his family was able to purchase with your generous gifts! His actually processed rather fast, as we give the child and staff up to six months to get that letter written and processed (photos included). After six months, we are able to send inquiries to see what may be causing the hold up in those letters. The good news is that I checked on each child and saw that they have all written thank you letters for large gifts, and the letters should be processed and placed on your account soon. I am not able to start sending inquiries until six months exactly. I would be happy to send inquiries for you on February 8th if you'd like me to. It might help them get the process done more quickly, but it does make me excited to see that they have at least been written and should be at the country offices to be processed by now! You are such a blessing, and we enjoy partnering with you for these four children!
