I was looking at my tax statement and saw my donations had ended last July. I never received a letter notifying me that this ended. Is there a way to know why the child was pulled from the program?

Megan, I am so sorry for the confusion with your tax summary and your child's sponsorship. From what I can see on the two accounts we have for you, you had called in March to move your sponsorship from the business account to your personal account. At the time, we were just moving over to a new internal system and we were having trouble completing the request so the representative sent it to our tech support team. Regrettably, the transfer was never completed. In order to move your child to your personal account, we had to cancel the sponsorship on your business account. That piece worked. However, the problem occurred when we were trying to add your child to your personal account. I sincerely apologize that we had problems when trying to move your child and that the task was never completed :(. The donations still continued to pull out until July, which also should not have happened since the sponsorship had been canceled in March. Due to a second issue in our system, the sponsorship was not fully canceled on your business account until we found the problem in July. There are two major pieces to our system and the cancelation only showed up in one place instead of both, causing your donations to continue to withdrawal until we fixed that problem in July. Watobe is still in the program, but he is sponsored by someone else now. I can't imagine the disappointment you must feel and I am so sorry for our mistakes with your account and your sponsorship. Please let me know if you have further questions or if I can do anything else to help!

Sarah,
Thanks for checking into that for me. It's definitely disappointing, but I understand that these things happen. We would love to start sponsoring another child, but before we do that, are you able to change the name on our account from "Axis" to "Megan and Jon Jon Wesolowski" or something like that? The business account was under Axis, but Watobe would send us letters to "Axis" rather than to our names.
Thanks!
Megan

Hi Megan!
What we would need to do is to create a whole new account for you with your new name. However, since you are just wanting to sponsor a new child and nothing really needs to be transferred over from the older business account, I would suggest that you just go online and sponsor a child as if you had never sponsored before. This would create the account for you and then you can do it whenever you are ready! :)
