I've sent many letters and emails and haven't heard anything. I'm beginning to think this is a scam. I get correspondence when you all want a payment, but nothing else.

Demetrice, I am deeply sorry to hear that you have not received any letters or information about your sweet Liyu :(. I can understand how that would be discouraging :(. You definitely should have received Liyu's welcome packet by now with her picture and information. Have you received this? Your child's information and picture will be updated every 18-24 months; however, we believe this new system transition we have been going through will enable us to provide this more frequently in the future :). If you would like us to send you additional pictures, we are happy to send you pictures in varying sizes :). I do see the many wonderful letters you have written to Liyu, and I'm sure that she is already encouraged by them. Please know that it may take up to four months to receive your first letter from your child. However, I do already see a letter in process for you :). If you have not received this letter by March 22nd, please do let us know.

I'm so sorry for the concerns you have that have caused you to doubt the integrity of Compassion. Regrettably, there are scam organizations out there and they have made it very difficult for organizations that are legitimately doing good work. For this reason, I encourage donors of any organization to do their research. Yes, please do Google us and read reviews of what people are saying about Compassion International. Look at what watchdog organizations, like Charity Navigators, say about Compassion. Go look at our financial records which are posted publicly on our website. Read the research that was done by a third-party researcher about the effectiveness of our program. If you can, travel to see what we are doing firsthand and meet your child. Please do research us and prayerfully consider whether this is the organization you are called to give to. We are very grateful for your heart to help children living in extreme poverty, and we sincerely look forward to the opportunity to earn your trust.
