Hi, I'm curious as to why there have been so many fewer children available for sponsorship on the US site than usual lately?  For awhile it was well over 3,000 (even 4-5 thousand for a time).  Lately it has been under 1,000.  Are there a lot less children in need of sponsorship lately?  Or are most just having sponsors sought for them via other avenues now?
thank you.

Hi Joseph! We have been seeing record numbers of children sponsored over the last several months. For this reason, the numbers of children available for sponsorship has dipped lower than we were anticipating. As we were moving into the Christmas season, we had to reserve more children for upcoming events. This is why there are fewer children showing on the website right now. All good things! :)

I was on the Bolivia group tour last month and we were told about 100,000 kids a year are sponsored at Compassion events around the country in addition to the ones sponsored online.
