Will I be refunded for a misunderstood charge??

My child was removed from the Compassion program in April. I received a phone call from Compassion and was informed of this, as well as that if I wanted to choose a new child, I should do so from my account. I am not planning on supporting  a new child until the fall because of my financial situation.

About a month or so ago, I logged on to my account and made sure that there was not a child selected and that my billing information was not on there. 2 days ago, however, I was billed for the $38 payment by Compassion. I was not aware that I had been automatically assigned a new child, and if a letter was sent to me about it, my parents must have received it while I was away at college. 

Will Compassion refund me for this payment and allow me to wait until fall to begin sponsoring again? I would like to be refunded for the $38 since it was a misunderstanding.

Emma, I am very sorry for the confusion in regards to this situation. It actually looks like when we spoke with you on the phone the representative was under the impression that you wanted to transfer your sponsorship immediately to Bethany from Guatemala after Mercy left the program. From what you have written above, it sounds like you were planning to sponsor another child online but then later decided to wait until the fall. I am so sorry as it sounds like we really misunderstood each other! I just made Bethany available for another sponsor and sent a refund for the first donation for her to be placed back on your credit card. If you would like to sponsor again in the fall, feel free to go online as you had planned. Let us know if we can help in any other way. We are absolutely happy to help! :)
