I wrote my sponsored child Alan Gabriel (BR5450196) a letter on June 14 that still shows as being in translation.  I just wanted to look into it, since it has been nearly 4 months.  I look forward to him receiving his first letter so he can know that I love him and care about him! I understand that there is a backlog of letters right now as Compassion works through some issues with the new system, so I do expect the translation and delivery process to take a bit longer for a season.  But since I am new to the online system I was just wondering, how will I know when Alan Gabriel has received his letter(s)?  Will it show as delivered on my account?

I also sent a handwritten letter and some stickers out on September 15.  Will that eventually show up on my account as well?

I am volunteering at a Compassion event next week, and I thought it might be helpful to understand a little more about the online system, if any similar questions happen to arise. :)

Thank you so much and God bless!

Hi Mairi! Thank you so much for sending Alan your loving letters! I'm so sorry that it is taking longer for your first letter to be processed. The first letter you sent to Alan in June needed to be taken out of the system, so it could be manually translated and delivered. As you know, we updated our systems in April, and we have encountered more bugs than we had anticipated. Because of this, all letters are now being manually translated. This means that the status of letters online will not always be accurate. However, it should still show the status of delivered once your letters reach your kiddos. Letters that are sent with gifts like stickers will still be scanned for translation, so you will be able to see the handwritten letter online once we receive and process it here in Colorado Springs. That's so wonderful that you are volunteering to represent Compassion, and I really appreciate your preparation for questions! Thank you for your heart to share God's love with your precious children. Please rest assured that your letters are reaching Alan and your other kiddos, and they are already having a big impact in their lives. God bless you!

Jenny, I'm so sorry for any confusion my answer may have caused. During this time while we are still working through some bugs in our system, the status of your letters may not always be correct. Sometimes, when you send a letter, it will show the status of complete delivered right away, but this is because it is being manually translated. Once these issues are corrected, you will be able to see delivered next to your letters to your child and know that they have received it.
