Why do the pictures uploaded to my online letters look skewed?

I have experienced this several times, and I have posed this subject on OurCompassion, and many other sponsors have experienced this "problem". I love the online letter writing tool, but several times I have uploaded photos, reviewed my letter, approved the placement, size, arrangement, of my photos. I click the button to send the letter to my child, and then the horror begins ;) When I retrieve my sent letter, I discover that my uploaded photos are skewed, orientated wrong, and obscenely wonky!! Its actually quite humerous looking, but unfortunately, it may be confusing to our sponsored children to receive these photos. Please tell me that the photos will be printed out properly, and that this is just a glitch that presents itself when we re-view our posted letters. I am currently using internet explorer as my browser. I have used the online cropping tool to adjust the size of the photo, and other times it is not needed, but it still happens, so there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason about why the skewing happens. It doesn't happen to all letters, and can even happen to one out of several duplicate letters. Any suggestions?

Actually I had this happen to me just a bit ago. I took off the one picture and retried the other one (removed it, then chose it again). It helped some, but not really. It is strange though.

We will happily check with our correspondence team to see if they have noticed any 'wonky' photos coming through on the letters written online. I'll let you know what we find out!

Our correspondence team reported back that they have not seen any 'wonky' looking photos coming through after the letters written online are printed and processed, so looks like this may just be looking weird when you view it (which we will report to our web team)! The team did also commit to looking specifically for this issue over the next few weeks just to make sure all of the photos are quality.

Thank you so very much for assuring me that the photos are printing out okay. I appreciate all the hard work the Compassion team does, and with such graciousness and speed!

Was noticing the wonky photos, too & was feeling a bit distressed that the pix will look odd to the child. I tried repeatedly to rectify the wonkiness. For me, it's mostly happening on the ones that are portrait orientation. I'm using iMac/Safari. Glad to hear that they are printing on CI's end correctly. The only thing that really matters is that they print normal for the child.

Maybe a note could be placed in the photo upload section that any distortion will not be visible to the child so we're not nervous about uploading photos?

Hey everyone! I wanted to provide an update on this issue. Our correspondence team has found a few (very few!) letters that picture's look a little off. We're looking into the issue and trying to figure out what the problem is. Could you help us out a little? Can you provide a screen shot of what you see? You may either post it to this forum or email it to my attention at ciinfo@us.ci.org.
