My child lives in Burkina Faso, and I'm worried about how close Burkina Faso is to Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, with the current Ebola epidemic going on. If something were to happen in her area (like an Ebola outbreak), would I be notified immediately? This has already been deemed the worst outbreak of Ebola, and there doesn't seem to be anything standing in its way (for the time being, anyway). I know there is no cure, and no vaccine, and I want to make sure Grace, and her family, is healthy.

Hi Brandi! Thank you so much for your love and concern for Grace and her families health and well being. I want to encourage you that Compassion has teams that monitor these situations to take appropriate action on behalf of our projects and the children if necessary. If your child is affected by this epidemic within her country, Compassion will notify you as soon as possible. You may also check on our web site for updates on Country News and Crisis Updates in the countries where we work. If the epidemic spreads to Burkina Faso, we will make our sponsors aware of the situation. The blog that is in the link below might be helpful for you as well as it provides details on how Compassion handles any crisis that happen in our countries.  http://blog.compassion.com/crisis-reporting-was-my-child-affected/
