I haven't wrote my Compassion a child, Emmanuel yet and I started sponsoring him about a month ago. I am in he process of making a tiny photo album with some coloring sheets, etc. I saw that some children are given to other people to write too if their sponsor isn't writing to them. Will that happen if I don't get my letter in soon? I just want to make sure Emmanuel isn't going to be given to someone else. Thanks in advanced!

Hi Rachel, welcome to the Compassion community! Your child will not be assigned to a correspondent, don't worry! Correspondents are only assigned if the financial sponsor had given permission.

Emmanuel will be so excited to hear from you, Rachel! It sounds like you're putting a great first package together for him. He'll love it!

I'm a new sponsor, too, and I've loved making use of Compassion's app to write letters, too. It's so fast & convenient -- it helps me just dive in & get it done.so my "perfectionism" doesn't slow me down. :)

Have a great time writing Emmanuel & getting to know him! :)

Rachel, Emmanuel is such a blessed little boy! We are so excited that you're part of our Compassion family and are already writing to him!

We know letters are so important to these kiddos and boosts their self esteem. For this reason, we give sponsors the option of allowing a correspondent to write to their child if they choose not to or maybe are just swamped and don't have the time. But don't worry, like Kristen said, Emmanuel will only get letters from you unless you want someone else to write to your child. But it sounds like you're really excited to get started writing to him and I know he'll love to get to know you and receive your love and encouragement!
